About Nan

Attention to people, relationships, and context.

I am a consultant and educator interested in how we understand ourselves, relate to one another, and make decisions within the circumstances of our lives and work. I work with individuals, leaders, and groups to explore the questions they are carrying, the expectations surrounding them, and the familiar responses that may be narrowing their choices.

My background spans more than two decades of teaching nationally and internationally, experiential education, and somatic and contemplative practice. My teaching experience includes Naropa University’s Somatic Counseling MA program and nearly a decade as residential faculty at Esalen Institute, where I taught and facilitated learning through Gestalt awareness practice, movement, yoga, bodywork, and meditation. The sustained exchange between teaching, practice, and community at Esalen shaped my commitment to learning that connects intellectual understanding with direct experience and relationship.

During my years in New York City, I was a core teacher at the flagship Jivamukti school.  Teaching internationally and contributing to studio development in Europe extended this work into different cultural and organizational settings. Alongside earlier leadership experience at Post Ranch Inn, these experiences inform my attention to how an organization’s intentions take shape through its working relationships, daily practices, and learning environments.

My approach is collaborative and attentive to context. We begin with the question in front of us and consider the relationships, assumptions, and conditions shaping it. Psychological and somatic understanding inform how I listen and what we explore, while the focus remains on the decisions, conversations, and practical possibilities relevant to your life or work. In teaching, I bring this same attention to the exchange between an idea and the experience of the people engaging with it.

My California-based business offers consulting, coaching, speaking, and educational services. These engagements are nonclinical and do not constitute psychotherapy or mental health treatment. My Colorado psychotherapy practice, Wisdom Embodied, operates separately.

Services offered through this site are consultative and educational. They do not constitute psychotherapy or mental health treatment
